I’d like to give a shout out to my friend Karen Puntch for publishing her work: “So Far…a poetic journey of healing and hope.” Her book is such a breath of fresh air and can offer encouragement to everyone who picks it up, but perhaps especially to those struggling with substance abuse issues or health issues that require relentless dedication to overcome.

One of my favorite lines in her book is from a letter she wrote to herself saying, “I love you and I’m making you the leading lady.” Those words resonated deeply with me as I’ve been working to make myself the “leading lady” in my own life as well– where I’m no longer allowing myself to be totally derailed by my own bad habits or the ups and downs of life.

Karen offers so many nuggets of insight and hope. The way she writes about her spiritual journey is so natural and makes such themes seem down to earth in simple language that feels accessible to all.
